One night I told my wife, “Honey, one of my clients promised to pay me tonight.
Women being who they are, she started remembering things she needed.
In a time like that, you don’t argue with a woman.
We both went to bed.
However, I kept on waiting for the alert.
Something after 10 or 11pm, the money came in. I gently stood up from our bed.
Thank God for mobile banking.
I transferred every penny of the money I just received to those I needed to pay for one thing or another.
In the morning I told madam, “Honey, the money entered but it has flew elsewhere”. Being a good woman, she only laughed.
What is the lesson here? Spend your money before you earn it.
Money walks with a tempting emotion. When we see it, we want to spend it and at that time, we’re mostly not thinking straight.
If your income comes to you before you think of what to buy with it, you’ll end up buying with emotion, the iphones, the new clothes, the birthday. Instead, do a simple budget.
Make a list of things your money would go for (i.e, next month). Make sure those things are things you need and some assets.
Asset could range from a good business book, to saving to start a business, saving to acquire a real estate, etc
Spend Your Money Before You Earn It.
