In this tutorial, I am going to be sharing with you some deep secrets so many people do not know about finding jobs in Nigeria, Africa and other parts of the world.
If you know me before now, you`ll know that I hate job (you may read the reasons why I hate job here).
But if you`re just coming across the ABC (this organization), you may not know why I hate jobs, so let me brief you…
I hate job because I know that our fathers deceived us and school as well deceived us, by teaching us that we should love jobs.
If you have been searching for jobs for a long time and you have nobody to tell you certain truths, here are they:
1. Being unemployed is not your fault.

Unemployment has a negative effect on people. It breaks their hearts, their hopes and worse, their self-esteem, so it`s easy to think that something is wrong with you, or maybe it`s your fault to be unemployed.
No. Nothing is wrong with you.
Your unemployment is not your fault.
You went to the primary school, secondary school and university or polytechnic. What else should you have done?
You have done all you are trained to do, yet, you`re unemployed.
Why?
What could possibly cause that? (I will soon tell you what causes unemployment and how to overcome unemployment)
2. You`re not unemployed because you didn`t go to the best school.
So many people think that they are unemployed because they attended polytechnic or a low-class university or because they are not having enough certificate.
That`s a lie.
In fact, you`re not unemployed because you didn`t have Ph.D., after all, many Ph.D. holders are unemployed.
(If you argue with this fact, Pick a copy of Vanguard, 5th November 2012 and you`ll see how six Ph.D. holders and 704 Masters Holders are among those who applied to work as trunk drivers for Dangote).
You`re not unemployed because you don`t have ‘’big certificate’’
3. You are not unemployed because of some witches or wizards.
We`re in Africa where everything is spiritualized. If a lady doesn`t get who to marry at age 30, she starts thinking it may be because her step-mother is a witch.
If a man doesn`t get any job after applying for all sort of job vacancies in Nigeria for two years after graduating from the university, he starts going to prophets and imams for prayers, thinking it might be the work of a wizard in his father`s house.
Soon, I’ll tell you the true cause of high rate of unemployment (which you probably don`t know) and the solution to it…
Continue reading.
4. The Government is not the cause of your unemployment.
Before you start suspecting me, I am not a politician. But I am here to tell you the truth. Thinking that government is the cause of our unemployment is not going to solve our problem in Africa.
Why?
Because if we don`t know the (true) cause of our problem, we`ll be using a wrong strategy to solve it.
Whenever people think about who should provide jobs in Nigeria, their answer usually is … government.
That is why there are lot of noise, criticism, and complaints against governments about unemployment

Most people really don`t know that government (of any country) is never able to provide jobs for her citizen.
You can head to google and make your research.
The total jobs in the United States in the year 2006/7 were 150,600,000. Out of this number, only 11,810,490 were U.S government`s employees
While the total population of the United States citizen were 301,621,157 in the year 2007 (according to U.S census Bureaus), U.S employed only 11 million of them, that is 4%
Why is there low unemployment rate in the US?
There are many businesses that employ people… not the government, no, not the US government.
Singapore government only employs about 6.35% of her citizen.
United Kingdom employed only 5.8 million of her citizen in the year 2009.
Government (whether in Africa or elsewhere) is unable to give jobs to even 50% of her citizen.
Some people will be angry with my above statement. Stephen, what do you mean? Don`t you know it`s government`s responsibility to employ her citizen?
Well, I’m informed.I understand the fact that even constitutions of many countries back up the fact that it`s government`s responsibility to give jobs to her citizen.
I am a Nigerian and I understand that Section 17 (3) of the Nigeria 1999 constitution states that ‘’suitable employment for Nigerian citizens is a primary responsibility of the Nigeria government’’.
But you see, constitutions are written by lawyers and political leaders. These people don`t understand the economy and how jobs are being created.
If they did, they would have written that section better than that.
You may ask me, Stephen, why can`t government create jobs?
5. Government cannot create jobs because she cannot manage a successful business. How do we have jobs?
By having successful businesses.
Unfortunately, government (though she has money) cannot manage a successful business
I usually laugh (and sometimes cry at heart) whenever I hear people lamenting about how government has failed to provide employment.
Funny enough, I usually see wise and intelligent political leaders (whom I know understand better) still telling people lies that they will give all our youths good jobs.
I know of few states in Nigeria whose governors lied in this way, and I know about the federal government also.
The outcome of those deceptive electioneering campaigns usually is that such a government will at the end of the day release a job vacancy in Nigeria (or his state) adverts and invite our graduates to come and work for #10,000 per month.
Do you call that a job?
I have heard the governor of my state (Osun, Nigeria), boasting many times in the news of giving jobs to 20,000 youths in the state.
Ask me that how much is he paying them? #9,500 or so.
Still, I do not blame these political leaders … except for their lies. The truth is, the government cannot create jobs, good jobs to satisfy us.
Why?
Because government, by its nature cannot manage businesses … and business is (the only) machinery that gives birth to jobs.
No successful business, no jobs!
Do you understand this now?
Ok, why can`t government manage businesses? Because political leaders are not business men, in most cases.
Even if the president of your country was a business man, most others in his cabinet will not be. Since they are not business people, they cannot manage businesses.
That is the reason why you see governments selling their corporations (businesses) these days
Do you know any successful business in your country that belongs to the government?
The only power governments do use to run a ‘’successful’’ business is to create a monopolistic market, a market where no private enterprise is allowed to compete.
This is not a business. It is power.
This shows how weak government is! This tells you that governments cannot (and never can manage businesses).
Believe me, if Nigerian federal government should start a company in an open market and Dangote should start a competing company, with the whole resources of the Nigerian government, Dangote will kill the government`s company within a year.
If government cannot run a successful business, how can government provide job?
Impossible. Impossible. Impossible.
After I have told you this truth, if it is bitter in your hearing, well, forgive me and go and be praying, maybe the next political leaders in your country will prove me wrong.
But should you love what I am saying here, you may want to ask me, Stephen, ok, who should be the one to provide jobs for us?
Before I answer this question, please permit me to tell you a secret most people don`t know
6. School is the cause of unemployment. After the pathetic May 15th, 2014 accidents happened, where about 19 Nigerians lost their lives where they were searching for jobs, one or two people sent messages to me to tell me, ‘’you have said it. It`s now happening’’.
Since 2007 when we started this organization (Africa Business Classroom), our mission has been to divert Africans attention from school into education (if you don`t know the difference, click here get our FREE book, 10 Secrets University Cannot Teach You about Business $ How to Make Money).
School, I believe deserved to be killed.
I have been shouting before now, that if we continue this way, teaching our young adults how to be employees when there are no jobs out there, it only takes few years before our continent will crash.
Who causes massive unemployment?
School.
How?
Because she trained us (all of us) how to be employees.
Only few people who are not employees got their trainings elsewhere, other than school.
I still cannot know why most people cannot understand this simple mathematics.
Take for instance, if we have 2 million graduates coming out of school every year in Nigeria, all these graduates are enthusiastically going into the world with the thought of starting their career … getting good jobs.
I dare to ask you, who will provide these jobs?
The angels from heaven?
Why I believe that not everybody can become entrepreneur, I as well believe that at least 25% of our population can become successful business owners.
If a country has 25% of her population as business owners and (at average) each business owner employs 4 people, there will never be anything to be called unemployment.
But school has done a great work of brainwashing us to love job.
I have said it before now. I hate school. I hate certificate and I hate job.
After I have proved to you how school causes unemployment, you may want to remind me of my promise of telling you who can provide job, then, read the next point…
7. You are the one who can provide jobs for Africans.

One evil our prison we call school has done for us is that she killed our initiative and destroyed our self-esteem. When you see brilliant young men and women who should have been employers, worrying about the possibility of losing their jobs, or even searching for jobs, then you`ll know the reason why I hate school.
For so many years, school treated us as though we were weak, dumb and unintelligent.
If actually we can learn how to be business owners, why did we waste 20 years of our lives learning how to be employees?
Or do you think that you don`t have what it takes to start and succeed in your own business?
You are wrong.
This is the last secret I have to tell you… You can be a successful business owner.
Just as I explained in our free book, you do not love job because being an employee is very easy… in fact, it`s not.
You do not love being an employee because employees are rich …. In fact they are poor.
You do not love to be an employee because you`re too dull to be a successful business owner.
No, you can!
The reason why you love to be an employee is because that is the only thing you are trained and inspired to be, since when you were in jss3 till when you graduated from the university or polytechnic.
Dear friend, you`re not dumb. You`re not dull and you`re not disadvantaged. The only reason why you did not desire to be entrepreneur is because you were never trained to be so.
My advice for you?
Learn to be a business owner.
Yes, I know you might have some excuses now (I don`t know what business to start, I don`t know how to run a business or I don`t have capital).
All of these excuses will varnish away with entrepreneurship skills.
I will not want to waste your time here. There is a wonderful FREE business course I will advise you read now.
