Growing up as a boy, I got crazy with movies, political arguments and, you guess it… football.
I would spend hours to watch soccer and many other hours to argue about it. At a point, I discovered that I was simply wasting my time (life), thinking I was doing the normal thing.
Below are the reasons why I hate football and why I wish you hate it too.
Warning: what you are about to read was written by a man who doesn`t live a “normal” life… me … and my opinion may not be acceptable by everyone.
Anyway, let`s go inside:
1. I hate football because it`s another man`s business.
I think this is the number one reason why I hate to watch football.
It’s another people’s business. If you have your own business, you will not be crazy with football.
When I say your business here, I really do not mean a commercial business. Whether you’re a student, an employee or a journalist, you have a business.
Your life is your business.
Whenever I see youths as they are obsessed with soccer game, I know the reason why … they are not having a business of their own.
If your life (which is your business) really matters to you, you will be so busy pursuing your goals, you will not have 8 hours to waste on watching football each week and another 8 hours to argue football.
For God sake, have a minute to think about it … football is another people’s business… other people, and not you are making millions through football.
Why will you waste your own time making noise on what other people are using to make money?

2. I hate football because it leads to arguments and fights.
I remember then when I was still watching football. I would spend good time to perfect my argument before I meet my friends and you see, nobody could win me.
I would argue and argue. I cannot remember fighting but it’s an obvious truth that so many people fight and even kill themselves because of soccer. It doesn’t worth it, does it?
3. I hate football because it wastes your money.
Add up the money you`re using to watch soccer in a month and use that money to buy a financial book. You will become rich while your mates who are wasting their own money on soccer will remain the same.
4. I hate football because it has pushed more people in our generation to become gambler.
There have always been gamblers, but football has made gambling so popular and easy. Most people have been deceived into thinking they could make money with gambling. Tell me, did you ever see a millionaire gambler?
Who has ever become rich through gambling?
Except the owner of the medium where you gamble. NairaBet is the most populous gambling portal in Africa (as at the time of writing this tutorial).
The owner of that website, Akin Alabi is said to be making about one million dollars wherever there is a major match. Those are the people who are making money through gambling, not the gamblers.
I understand how this works because I was once running a game business where people would come and play and some would gamble. I would deduct only a little percentage out of their bet, but at the end of the day, I would make much money.
As gambler, if you make money today, you will lose money tomorrow. That’s not smart.
Gambling is not a way to be rich because you simply cannot become rich as gambler.
5. I hate football because it destroys lives and destinies.
Not really about how people are killing themselves, physically, but how millions of youths are wasting their time, emotions and brain’s power on the soccer game.
I understand, so let me say it.
We all have a very short period to spend in this planet and you see, only a few of those period is for us to decide (with our actions) what our lives will count for.
The trend I am seeing is sadden and I cannot keep my mouth shut and be looking. You will see a little child of 9 years old who has already chosen a club he dedicates his live, love and emotion to.
There is one near me who will go and watch soccer and return by 10pm, he’s just around eleven years old.
This little boys will grow up in nonsensical arguments and unproductive loyalty to a game called soccer.
From age 9 till 29 if this boy wastes an average of six hours on thinking, watching and arguing football, that is 6,240 hours (two years of working hours minus sleeping time).
If the same guy had invested such hours in learning entrepreneurship and practicing the business art, he, at 29 might be a millionaire.
Your life is very short and the measure of it is how you spend your time, what you invest your brain in and how you use your emotion. If you`re investing too many time and emotion on football, you can be sure that you cannot go far in life.
Time na money is still a valid adage!
Did you hate me for writing this tutorial? I have no apology to render.
However, just as I’ve earlier said, I am not a “normal” human being and my own way of life cannot possibly be a standard for you.
I hate movie. I hate television. I hate football. I spent nearly no time on all these since the last 10 years, but now I am considering spending some few hours a year on them.
If you forget everything here, don`t forget that football is another people`s business.
